Minimum age
The main driver must be at least 21 years old at the time of pick-up. A minimum age of 25, and in some cases 27, applies to premium, SUV and luxury vehicle classes.
The exact age requirements are stated for each vehicle during the booking process and verified against the ID document at pick-up. If the age requirement is not met, the rental company may refuse the handover, and no refund of the rental fee will be granted.
Driving licence
A driving licence valid for at least one year in the category that matches the rented vehicle is required for the handover. For premium and sports cars, some stations require a minimum driving experience of two years.
Licences issued in EU and EEA countries are accepted without additional formalities. Licences written in non-Latin scripts must be accompanied by an international driving permit or a certified translation. Provisional, restricted or suspended licences are not accepted.
ID number
A valid official ID document (national ID card or passport) must be presented in original form at pick-up. The information stated on the rental agreement has to match the data on the ID document exactly.
Digital copies, photographs or expired documents will not be accepted. International customers are generally required to present a valid passport; within EU and EEA countries a national ID card is also accepted.
Additional driver
Additional drivers can be registered before or at the time of pick-up against a per-day surcharge with a daily cap. Each additional driver must meet the same age and licence requirements as the main driver and must be physically present at the station.
The driving licence and ID document of every additional driver are recorded on site. If the vehicle is driven by an unregistered person, insurance coverage is voided and the main driver becomes liable for any resulting damage.
